Ministry to the LORD by Watchman Nee

In Acts 13:2, it says that the apostles MINISTERED TO THE LORD, and fasted; then the Holy Spirit gave them direction. The apostles did not depend on whether they spoken their prayer points or fought spiritual warfare in order to hear from the LORD. The apostles lived a daily lifestyle of fasting and praying; and choose on that particular day and time to fast from pleasant foods. Prayer and fasting were their lifestyle. It wasn't something they would just do, IT WAS THEIR LIFESTYLE. We notice it also says as they fasted, THEY MINISTERED TO THE LORD. MINISTERING TO THE LORD is the key which causes the Holy Spirit to manifest His presence in giving us direction in the things of the LORD for our life. Ask yourself this question, how much time do I spend ministering to the LORD? Do I spend most my time fighting in the heavenlies? REMEMBER, the LORD God said that the battle is His and our Heavenly Father is seeking WORSHIPERS—those who worship Him in spirit and truth. He's looking for WORSHIPERS and NOT WARRIORS. Whenever we MINISTER TO THE LORD, He is the One Who wage war in the heavenlies by sending forth His warriors to fight on our behalf so that we can be FREE as we MINISTER TO HIM. Therefore, REMEMBER, whenever you fast and/or pray, don't forget — MINISTER TO THE LORD — to adore Him — to say beautiful words to Him — to love on Him — to worship Him in spirit and truth; for His Word is TRUTH. Tell Him how lovely, wonderful, awesome and gorgeous He is. MINISTER TO HIM and watch your heart and circumstances change.
